Y. Yuan is a full professor with the Northwestern Polytechnical University since 2018. Previously she was a full professor with the Chinese Academy of Sciences and a tenured academic staff at the Aston University, U.K. She has served as an associate editor for esteemed journals published by IEEE/Springer/Elsevier, e.g., IEEE Trans. on Industrial Electronics, IEEE Trans. on Cybernetics, IEEE Trans. on Circuits and Systems for Video Technology, IEEE Trans. on Human-Machine Systems, Pattern Recognition (Elsevier), etc. She co-chairs the IEEE SMCS Technical Committee on Cognitive Computing. Prof. Yuan has received a series of Best Paper Awards, Highest Cited Paper Awards, Highest Download Awards from the IEEE/ACM/Elsevier, etc. She has also obtained many research awards by government and academic societies/associations, e.g., China Youth Science and Technology Award, National Natural Science Award, Natural Science of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology Award of The China Computer Federation, and Science & Technology Award of The Chinese Institute of Electronics, etc.
